Take down policy

If material is encountered on DeophamHistory.co.uk which you would argue should not be published in its present form, context or attribution, please make contact stating the following in your email to Help@DeophamHistory.co.uk:

  • Your contact details;
  • The full details of the material;
  • The exact and full website address (URL) where you found the material;
  • An explanation of the problem with the material on DeophamHistory.co.uk;
  • Proof that you are the rights holder or are authorised to act for the rights owner.

Upon receipt of notification, the Take-Down procedure is then invoked as follows:

  • Receipt of your complaint will be acknowledged by email;
  • An initial assessment of the validity and plausibility of the complaint will be made;
  • If it appears that there are grounds for a valid complaint, the material will be temporarily removed from the website, pending an agreed solution;
  • If applicable, the source of the material will be contacted and notified that a complaint has been received;
  • The complainant and the source of the contested material will be encouraged to resolve the issue swiftly and amicably and to the satisfaction of both parties, with the following possible outcomes:
    • The material is replaced on the website unchanged,
    • The material is replaced on the website with changes,
    • The attribution on the website is revised,
    • The material is permanently removed from the website.
  • If the contributor of the material and the complainant are unable to agree a solution, the material will remain withdrawn from the website until a resolution has been reached.
