Rev. John Buck

Biography

John Buck appears in the Deopham parish register as the Curate officiating at a marriage in 1754:

Vicar of Deopham 1760 – 1799.
John Buck was a schoolmaster at Hingham Free School.
He was instituted as the vicar of Deopham on July 25th, 1760.
The Rev. John Buck is a witness in 1764 to Anne Amyas taking on the lease of the Manor of Deopham.
He continued as vicar of Deopham until his death on July 2nd, 1799. He also held curacies, parallel with the Deopham appointment, at Rockland St Peter and Scoulton.
He lived in the rectory at Edingthorpe, as did his successor to the Deopham role, Rev. Richard Adams.
