The following information is based on a booklet published by Chris Clarke, who kindly gave permission for its use on the Deopham website.

Albert James Morter

Private 51113 Albert James Morter was born in Great Ellingham c.1898. He enlisted in the 2nd Suffolk Regiment in Attleborough. He served in France & Flanders and was killed in action on 28th March 1918 aged ~20. He is buried at Feuchy Chapel British Cemetery, Wancourt Grave III D 8 and is remembered on the Deopham War Memorial. He was the son of Emma Morter.

WW1 Memorial

This memorial is located on the north wall inside St. Andrew’s Church, Deopham.
