1852 F.S. Turner

Frederick Sippins Turner was disallowed £4 he had claimed for being an assistant overseer because the auditor stated that as a churchwarden he could not claim anything towards being an overseer. The Poor Law Board eventually relented and allowed him his £4, stating that he was not to “expect that they will be disposed to deal in the same manner with any similar disallowance which may in future be brought under their notice.”
