the sisters Frances and Anne Amyas had advanced £100 + interest to James Cooper;
May 14th 1766:
Frances Amyas confirmed receipt of the balance due to her of £50 + interest;
May 26th 1768:
Anne Amyas confirmed that she had received the £100 + interest due to her from James Cooper.
James Cooper of Deopham, YeomanMay 26th 1768: A conditional surrender was made to James Story of Kimberley, Gentleman, redeemable upon payment of £200 + interest at 4½% per annum

June 26th 1768: Redeemed by James Cooper, Yeoman, of Deopham for £200 + interest at 4½% per annum i.e. £200 15s. thereby cancelling the earlier conditional surrender
James CooperMay 25th 1768 under the last will & testament of his father, John Cooper (deceased)Robert Mallom of Hingham, Gentleman.
Then comes William Armine Story1, Clerk with a writ “upon Disseisin En Lepost” at the Common Law, calling pledges from John Dee & Richard Roe;
Robert Mallom calls to warranty James Cooper, Tenant;
James Cooper calls as his warranty John Wright;
Court adjourns to “imparl”2 until 5 o’clock.
Court then reconvenes at 5 o’clock but John Wright does not appear despite being summoned “three times with a loud voice”;
Therefore Court decides in favour of the Rev. William Armine Story;
John Randless, Bailiff, is instructed to “deliver in full seizin” the premises in question;
Having completed recovery, William Armine Story surrenders these lands “to the only use & behoof of the aforesaid James Cooper”
1) ½ acre between lands formerly of Ralph Cooper, late of John Cooper on East & West;
Palloway to North;
2) 3 roods between lands formerly of Ralph Cooper, late of John Cooper East & West;
Palloway to North;
3) 1 rood in Upper Marriotts between lands formerly of Ralph Cooper, late of John Cooper West;
Edward Boreman East;
Highway South;
lands formerly of Miles Hobard late Robert Payne North;
4) 1½ acres in two pieces, part of Five Acres formerly of John Newman:
4.1) 1 acre between lands formerly of Edward Cock late of John Cock West;

4.2) ½ acre between lands formerly of Miles Hobard, late of Robert Payne East;

James Cooper mortgaged his property again on October 24th 1768, this time for £250 + interest at 4½% per annum: this was ratified in the Court of January 21st 1771.

Defaulters

We present all such Tenants as have this day made default of their Suit and Service and amerce them One Shilling a piece.
