Announcement of Court

The following announcement appeared in the Norfolk News of April 16th 1881 and the Norfolk Chronicle of April 23rd 1881:-

The 1881 census recorded William Allen and his family as living in Low Common, where he was described as a “Farmer of 223 Acres employing 6 men, 3 boys & 2 women”. Kelly’s 1883 Directory describes him as a “farmer & cattle dealer, Hall farm”. Mr. Michael Allen has advised that William Allen moved to Hall Farm in Low Common in 1875. It seems reasonable to conclude therefore that this Court took place at Hall Farm, Deopham.
