The following extract from the will of Henry Norton dated November 9th 1709 has been copied in English into the Court Roll:
Item: I give & devise unto my said Son James Norton & his heirs, All that my Messuage & all those my lands & tenements, both Freehold & Copyhold, situate & being in Deopham in the County of Norfolk, which I purchased of John Godfrey.
Extract from the will of Edward Payne
The following extract from the will of Edward Payne dated November 2nd 1680 has been copied in English into the Court Roll:
Item: I give & bequeath unto Joseph Payne my Grandchild all those my Messuages, Lands & Tenements situate being & being in Deopham & Hingham aforesaid which I purchased of John Dover the elder & John Dover the younger of Attleborough in the said County;
And also one piece of land containing by Estimation one acre & lieth in Deopham field aforesaid which I purchased of Philip Cory to have and to hold all & any the said premises with their & any of their appurtenances unto him the Said Joseph & his Assigns during the term of his naturall life & after the decease of him the said Joseph then to the Issue of his Body lawfully begotten.
