The Court Roll does not include a verbatim quotation from the will of Andrew Lane (deceased) dated March 15th 1825, but it does include the following paraphrase:

Defaulters

  1. The extract from the will of Andrew Lane (deceased) indicates a farm size of 40 acres: the remainder were either not Copyhold, or not Copyhold of this Manor. It can be seen in the 1814 map above that 7 acres of the Manor of Shadwells otherwise Cockerells as well as 1 acre of the Manor of the Dean & Chapter of Canterbury are adjacent to the piece no 171 being transferred at this Court. ↩︎
