Extract from the will of Edward Stephenson
The following extract from the will of Edward Stephenson dated August 10th1657 has been included in the Court Roll, in English:
Item: I give & bequeath & devise unto the said Jane Stephenson my Wife during the whole terme of her naturall life
All & singular my lands & tenements & hereditaments whatsoever within the Towne of Morley, howesoever the same are scituate or doe lye either in … other .. of Aud after the decease of the aforesaid Jane my Wife, I give & devise
All the lands, tenements & hereditaments which were of William Stephenson my father being in the said Towne of Morley wheresoever lye, and one pightle called Matts containing by estimacon twoe acres & a halfe haveing a barne standing upon it, being part of that I purchased of Mr Thomas Aldridge & adjoyning to the said lands which were of my said father unto Edward Stephenson my Nephew, sonne of Mathew Stephenson my brother & to the heires & assignes of the same Edward forever.
