Extract from the will of John Smyth
The following extract from the will of John Smyth, dated January 14th 1633, has been included in the Court Roll in English:
Item: I give & bequeath unto John Smyth my youngest Sonne, after the decease of Frances my wife, all my houses, lands & tenements, (both freehold & copyhold) with their appurtenances, scituate, lyeinge & being in Deopham aforesaid to hould to hym & to his heires forever.
Footnotes
- It has been noted in the margin that Augustine Cullyer was admitted to both pieces at the Court held on December 12th 1689 ↩︎
- The name Sharke Gap also appears in the record of the Court held on August 8th 1649; it is likely that this should read Clarke’s Gap – as, for example, in the Court of August 5th 1777. ↩︎
- See above footnote on Sharke Gap ↩︎
