Details of John Mann’s Sale
Description of Piece No 59
The following description of Piece no 59 is given in the Court Roll; this is the first time in the Court Rolls that mention is made of a building on this plot.
All that piece or parcel of Land lying in Deopham aforesaid called “Deopham Close” marked on the Map annexed to the Deopham Inclosure Award “No. 59” containing six acres and ten perches with the messuage or dwellinghouse and buildings lately erected on part thereof bounded
by Land by the said Award allotted to John Francis, North-west
By the Lower Hackford Road, North-east
By land thereby allotted to the Reverend John Howard and then or late belonging to the Reverend Charles Beauchamp Cooper, South-east, and
By Land thereby allotted to Thomas Kett and Thomas Beck as Trustees under the Will of John Bousell and then or late belonging to Philip Pitts and respectively South-west
Which said Land was formerly in the occupation of Robert Capon and the said Messuage land and hereditaments were then or late in the occupation of the said John Mann or his assigns with their and every if tier rights, members and appurtenances;
Or howsoever otherwise the said hereditaments are bounded, tenanted, known or distinguished and ought to be described.
Indenture of Sale
The Indenture of sale was dated November 22nd 1862 and was between the following parties:
- John Mann, vendor
- Edward Palmer Clarke of Wymondham to whom £150 remained due on the mortgage advanced on November 26th 1846
- Edward Fulcher
- George Semmence of Wicklewood, Cordwainer,
- John Semmence, son of Joseph Semmence.
