1814 Post Inclosure Map
The text is not clear although the fact the Jubilee Cottages site is piece no 196 is clear. The associated text however states the following:
And we assign , set out and allot unto Mary Eke the two pieces of land next herein described, namely:
First one piece of land marked on the map hereto annexed no 169 containing thirty two perches with a cottage and other buildings standing thereon bounded by land allotted to Rowing Brasnett, north, by the Attleborough Road, east and south, and by land allotted to Thomas Pond, west;
Second …. Piece no 130 [1 acre on the LHS at the end of Halffield Lane].

All rights reserved by Norfolk Record Office who hold the original; their ref is NRO C/Sca 2/86
1843 Tithe Map
This map is confused by the fact that north is to the left. The site of the Jubilee Cottages is piece no 316.
The associated analysis recorded that the house & garden were owned by Francis Clements and occupied by Jeremiah George. This was the only property in the village owned by Francis Clements. An annual tithe payment of 1s 4d had to be paid to the vicar.
The size was recorded as 1 rood and 1 perch (= 41 perches) – slightly more than the 32 perches in the 1814 analysis.

1885 Ordnance Survey Map
The houses are quite different in position from the current location; there is an additional building close to the road.

1897 Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee
- The present cottages did not exist on the 1885 map shown above, although there were buildings on the site;
- The present buildings are shown on the 1906 map shown below;
- The significant Jubilee between these two dates was Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897;
- It would appear therefore that the cottages date from this time;
- This conclusion is supported by the current resident of No 2.

1906 Ordnance Survey Map
The buildings now resemble the present Jubilee Cottages.

1928 – 1982 – Phoenix-Stones in No 1
Amy and Henry (Harry) Phoenix-Stone moved to No 1, Jubilee Cottages around 1928 (the year their daughter Hilda was born). The land charges record indicates that they were tenants of Henry Arthur Rudrum until 1945. Their son Geoffrey remained for another year after Harry had died in 1981.
1950s onwards – Lloyds in No 2
Claude and Marjorie Lloyd lived at No 2, Jubilee Cottages with their daughters Maureen and Mary.
2010 – Extension of No 2
In 2010 planning approval was given for No 2 Jubilee Cottages to be enlarged.
