Rev. Benjamin Gooch

Curate of Deopham 1711

Benjamin Gooch was ordained deacon on Sept 21st 1690 and then held posts at Threxton and Watton, before being ordained priest on May 21st 1692 in Norwich Cathedral. The following year he was appointed rector at Ashwellthorpe, a post he held until 1728. In addition, he was appointed curate of Carleton Forehoe and Kimberley on December 1st 1705, when he had to sign the following declaration of allegiance to the 39 articles, the canons of Scripture and the liturgy of the Church of England:

The Rev. Benjamin Gooch was appointed as curate to the parish of Deopham on August 11th 1711, presumably in addition to his roles at Ashwellthorpe, Carleton Forehoe and Kimberley.1
When appointed, he had to sign the following declaration of allegiance to the 39 articles, the canons of Scripture and the liturgy of the Church of England:
