In September 1875 Robert Hake acted as Hibbert Wanklyn‘s locum. He appears as the officiant in a burial and a baptism during this month. Writing to the Dean and Chapter of Canterbury the following year1, he refers to Mr. Hake as being able to endorse the fact that the vicarage was in urgent need of repairs.
In addition to being a precentor at Canterbury Cathedral, the Rev. Robert Hake was also drawing an income from the Aylsham vicarage from 1867.
