The Ecclesiastical Commissioners responded on July 21st 1932: they explained that they were “unable to accede to your request for a special grant”.
Confirmation in Wymondham – March 1937
The EDP of March 17th 1937 reported:
There was a large congregation at the Abbey Church, Wymondham, on Sunday afternoon, when the Bishop of Norwich attended for the Confirmation service, assisted by the vicar (Rev. F. Jarvis). Some 65 members presented themselves for Confirmation from Wymondham, Colton, Bunwell, Welborne, Banham, Morley, Deopham, and Hackford and Wreningham. The robed clergy present were the Rev. H. S. Clarke (Colton), the Rev. I. Gresham Jones (Bunwell), the Rev. W. Busby (Welborne). the Rev. B. Banks (Barnham Broom), the Rev. B. M. Downton (Morley), the Rev. W. Clarke (Deopham), and Canon Fardell (Wreningham).
Departure from Deopham – 1939
The EDP of Feb 2nd 1939 reported:
The Rev. W. Clark and Mrs. Clark, who are moving to Sedgeford, on Monday received a walnut tea wagon and a nest of small tables from the parishioners of Deopham. The gifts were handed over by the churchwardens at a meeting held in the Church Room.

Obituary – November 1946
The EDP of Nov 1st 1946 reported:
The death took place last night at Sedgeford of the Vicar, the Rev. William Clark. He had been ill for three weeks.
The son of the late Mr. W. Clark, of Liverpool, he was educated at Clare College, Cambridge, and was ordained during the 1914-18 war. He served in London churches for some time before taking livings at Ambleside, Bow Brickhill, Buckinghamshire and Accrington. He became Vicar of Deopham with Hackford in 1930 and was inducted at Sedgeford in 1939.
The Rev. W Clark served for some years on the Forehoe and Henstead R.D.C and the Docking R.D.C. He leaves a widow and a daughter.
Michael Allen recalls that the Rev. Clark’s widow and daughter came to live at Hall Farm for two years after the death of the Rev. Clark.
It is interesting that this Directory entry shows how the Rev. William Clark’s income was made up:-
