1814 Inclosures
The 1814 Inclosures report describes piece no 107 as being allotted to George Hubbard:
We Assign, set out and allott unto George Hubbard One Piece of land marked on the Map hereto annexed No 107 containing two roods and thirty five perches with a messuage, a windmill and other buildings standing thereon bounded
– by land allotted to George Browne Leake north and east,
– by other land allotted to the said George Hubbard purchased of us south and in part west, and
– by the Attleburgh Road on the remaining part of the West;
And we direct the said George Hubbard to make and keep in repair a fence in his said allotment against the Public Road.
Piece no 108 contains the Mill Yard and is also allotted to George Hubbard:
One piece of land also parcel of the said South Hill Common containing two roods marked on the Map hereto annexed No 108 bounded
– by other part of the said South Hill Common allotted to the said George Hubbard North,
– by a Garden and the Mill Yard allotted to the said George Hubbard in part and
– by an old Inclosure late belonging to John Browne and now allotted to George Browne Leake in part East,
– by other part of the said South Hill Common allotted to the said George Browne Leake wholly South and in part West and
– by the fourth Public Road called the Attleburgh Road on the remaining part of the West.

1827 Marriage of Miller
The Norfolk Chronicle of Saturday, February 3rd 1827 reported the marriage of “Mr. Samuel Robinson, miller of Deopham, to Miss Charlotte Lofty of Hethersett”. The baptism register shows that on December 18th of that year their son William Proctor was baptised: his father’s profession is shown as “miller”.
1828 Tower Mill Offer for Sale
Before the Tower Mill there was a Smock Mill. The following advertisement appeared in the Norwich Mercury on February 9th 1828 (about two years before the construction of the Tower mill).

Two years later, The Norwich Mercury of February 27th 1830 carried another advertisement:
