Extract from the settlement of Edmond Burman
The following extract from a document of Edmond Boreman dated January 1st 1660 called “The Settlement” has been copied in English into the record of this Court:
– Edmond Burman by the name of Edmond Boreman of the Citty & County of Norwich Esquire of the one parte and Brampton Gurdon by the name of Brampton Gurdon of Eatton in the County of Norfolk Esquire and
– John Burman by the name John Burman of the Citty and County of Norwich aforesaid Esquire of the other part.
Extract from the will of Edmond Borman
The following extract from the will of Edmond dated September 29th 1686 has been copied in English into the record of this Court:
I Edmond Borman of Deepham in the County of Norfolk, Esquire, provided alwaies and I doe hereby declare my mind and will to be and so it is that my Executors herein after named shall have, take and receive all the rents …. and fitts of all and singular the Mesuages, lands, tenements, hereditaments and premisses herein before given and devised unto the said Edmond Sedley and William Sedley my great grandchildren;
And also all my goods, cattells and chatles, mony, plate, rights, credits and ??? all estate whatsoever which shall be mine at the time of my decease and the same to imply to the uses, intents and purposes herein after mentioned (that is to say):-
– for the satisfaction and payment of the Legacies, Summe, & Summes of money whatsoever either heretofore or hereafter in this my will & last testament given and bequeathed;
– And principally for the payment and satisfaction of the summe of fifteen hundred pounds unto the sisters of them the said Edmond Sedley and William Sedley my great grandchildren.
The executors of this will were named as:
– John Jubbs and
– Master John Browne of the city of Norwich, Sugarbaker2

It is explained in this article that John Browne operated from premises on the site of the present Forum in Norwich and later moved to Wacton. A memorial to his many children who died very young exists in the entrance to St. Peter Mancroft church in front of the Forum.
