Comments on the Court Rolls of the Dean & Chapter of Canterbury
- The sequence of the General Courts changed in 1713 so that the Court Leet became a small section at the end of the record, whereas before it had been the first section. For consistency, the sequence Court Baron followed by Court Leet has been retained throughout these pages.

The minute book illustrated below, which is retained in the Canterbury archive, appears to contain the contemporaneous drafts written during the meetings which were then copied and expanded (e.g. by the addition of the 1814 Inclosure Map piece numbers) into the formal volume also held at Canterbury. The meetings in this basic record are marked “enrolled” – presumably once they had been copied to the detailed record.
