Mary Fidd appointment of Attorneys
The following extract from a document appointing attorneys, signed by Mary Fidd, dated August 26th 1712, has been included in the record of the Court:
Know all men
by these presents that I Mary Fidd of Wells next the Sea in the County of Norfolk, Widow, Have Constituted and appointed by these presents & Doe Constitute and appointe my trusty and well beloved friends
– John Frary of Wells next the Sea aforesaid, Gent,
– Roger Stoughton of Runhall in the County of Norfolk, Gent, and
– Nicholas Bipond [?] of the City of Norwich, Gent,
or any or either of them my true and lawfull attorney of Attorneys, Joyntly or Severally to take up for me & in my name, place and Stead and to be admitted for me at the next Generall Court or any other Court to be held for the Manor of Deopham Decani et Capituli Cantur3,
All and singular the Messuages, Lands & Tenements holden by Copy of Court Roll of the said Manor or which is or Shall be Surrendered or Conveyed to me & my heires by Thomas Betts of Coulton in the Said County of Norfolke, yeoman, or any other person or persons whatsoever;
And after such admission for me & in my name, place and Stead either in Court or out of Court according to the Custome of the Said Manor or to Surrender out of my hands into the hands of the Lord or Lords, Lady or Ladys, of the Said Manor,
All and Singular the the said Messuages and Lands and all other my Messuages and Lands holden by Copy of Court Roll or the said Manor with their & every of their appurtenances
To the use and behoofe of my last will and testament, Declared or to be declared,
And whatsoever my Said Attorneys or any or either of them shall lawfully doe in the premisses I doe hereby ratify & Confirme.
In witness whereof I the said Mary Fidd have hereunto Sett my hand & Seale the twenty third day of August In the yeare of our Lord, One thousand Seaven hundred and Twelve.

Edmund Sedley will
Roger Stoughton brought to Court the last will of Edmund Sedley dated November 15th 1707:
I, Edmund Sedley of Ludham in the County of Norfolk, Gent, will that all and every my Messuages, Lands & Tenements lying and being in Deopham in the said County, shall be Sold by my Executors hereafter named
and lastly Edmund Sedley declared:
I nominate & appointe Thomas Betts of Coulton in the said County, Gent, my Sole Executor
Will of John Sedley
Part of the will of John Sedley dated October 28th 1711 was included in the Court record [this will is also included in the record of the Court held on October 24th 1732 with some minor spelling variations]:-
I John Sedley Esquire
As to my Manors, Messuages, Lands, Tenements & Hereditaments with the appurtenances, I Give and bequeath the same, chargeable as before as before charged unto my Cousin Edward Sedley of the Parish of St. Andrew in Holborne in the County of Middlesex, Oyleman, and to the heire Male of the body of the said Edward Sedley, lawfully begotten or to be begotten & to his Heires, And for want of such Issue,
unto my Cousin John Sedley, brother of the said Edward and to the heire Male of the body of the said John Sedley lawfully begotten or to be begotten & to his Heires & for want of such Issue,
unto my Cousin Martin Sedley, Son of Martin Sedley deceased, late Brother of the said Edward and John, and to the heire male of the body of the said Martin the Son & to his Heires and for want of such Issue,
to my right Heires for ever.
