Will of Edward Sedley
In the Name of God, Amen.
I, Edward Sedley, etc, give and Devise unto my Nephew Loftus Wharton Somner,
All and singular other my Manors, Messuages, Lands Tenements and Hereditaments whatsoever Situate, Lying and being in the said County of Norfolk or else where in the Kingdom of Great Britain
To have and to hold, all and Singular my said Manors, Messuages, Lands Tenements and Hereditaments whatsoever and the Reversions and Remainders thereof and every part and parcell thereof (subject to and chargeable nevertheless with the Severall Annnuities or Yearly Rench charges herein before mentioned) unto my said Nephew Loftus Wharton Somner for and during the Term of his naturall Life
And for default of such Issue (subject to and chargeable with the Severall Annnuities before mentioned) I give and bequeath the same to my Nephew Henry Somner for and during the Term of his naturall Life and from and after etc
Provided always & I do make the Severall Devises above mentioned upon Condition that every such Male Person or Persons who shall respectively take any Estate by virtue of any of the Limitations above mentioned and who shall enter upon and have possession of the said Manor and Capitall Messuage and other the Premisses above mentioned, Shall assume, bear and take the Sir name of Sedley.
And in a codicil to this testament dated ?????are written the following words in English:
Whereas Since my making my said Will, my Nephew Loftus Wharton Somner is dead without any Issue of his body, I do therefore Order and Direct that my Nephew Henry Somner Shall have hold and enjoy all and Singular my Manors, Messuages, Lands, Tenements and Hereditaments in my said Will mentioned in Such manner as I have by my said Will devised the Same unt him with Such Limitations, Restraints and Remainders over and Subject to Such Provisoes, Annuities and Payments as I have by my said Will Subjected, directed and appointed the Same.

The following extracts from the Will of Edward Colman have been included in the Court record:
In the name of God, Amen.
I, Edward Colman etc, I give, devise and bequeath unto my Kinsman, John Colman, another Son of my Brother Jeremy Colman, all those my Messuages, Lands and Tenements, Freehold, Copyhold, Customary or Charter hold or Lease Lands lyeing and being in Wicklewood and Crown Thorpe in the County of Norfolk aforesaid, To his heires for ever.
In the name of God, Amen.
I, Edward Colman etc, I give, devise and bequeath all those my Messuages, Lands, Tenements, PRemises and all the appurtenances thereunto belonging, lying and being in Deopham in the County aforesaid which I purchased of Divers People, now in the use or occupation of Robert Brook, his Assigns or under Tennants, unto Hannah Colman my Kinswoman, an other Daughter of my Brother Jeremiah Colman and to her heirs for ever.
