For many years this bungalow and the adjacent houses were part of a plot surrounded by land belonging to the Half Moon Pub and Blacksmith’s. This piece of land was known by the 1814 Inclosures Commission as “Piece 126”: a separate page here charts the history of that plot up to the point where it started to fragment.
1985 – Separation of the Bungalow
On July 25th 1985 John Moore sold another part of piece no 57 (the Ordnance Survey reference for Piece 126) to Peggy Claridge. The bungalow built on that land is now called “Gillaine”. The property sold was described as follows:
All that piece or parcel of freehold land situate in the Parish of Deopham … forming part of the O.S. No 57,
Together with the bungalow erected thereon …

With thanks to Martin Cavicchioni for sight of this plan.
The plan above shows that John Moore’s house was called Threeways, and the adjacent cottage was “Threeways Cottage”. Mrs M. Moore was living in the left side, and A.J. Skipper in the right hand half.
