References to the Manor
Manor of the Dean & Chapter of Canterbury
There is a reference to this Manor in the Court the Manor of Deopham of the Dean & Chapter of Canterbury held on October 18th 1681 where a piece of land is described as
2 acres & 2½ roods between land of John Skipper, East,
land of the Manor of Blomefield called Somers,

West,
abutts Haugh Pightle, South,
Pasture of Deopham called the Stolland, North.
There are also references in the records of the Courts of the Manor of Deopham of the Dean & Chapter of Canterbury held on August 19th 1757 and February 20th 1797 where a piece of land acquired by Thomas Grigson Payne is described as having “land of the Manor of Blomefield called Lomers on the part of the West”.
Manor of Shadwells otherwise Cockerells of Morley
There are several references to land which is copyhold of the Manor of Shadwells otherwise Cockerells of Morley as being adjacent to land of the Manor of Blomefield. This is in the area of Southill.
Comment
It is possible that the few references to this Manor actually refer to The Manor of Blomevile. The descriptions in the Court Rolls were copied from one transaction to the next, so once an error had been incorporated it could be carried forward for several generations.
No history of this Manor after the Court of the Manor of the Dean & Chapter of Canterbury held on February 20th 1797 has come to light.
